From October 31 to November 2, 2025, the third edition of our traditional friendly match against the juniors of the Frankfurter Golf Club took place. This partner club, with which we now share an annual reciprocal agreement, once again welcomed us warmly along with our five young players.

After a seven-hour drive in the Club’s minibus, a relaxed 9-hole practice round on Friday afternoon allowed everyone to get acquainted and for our players to appreciate the quality and design of the course — a layout signed Harry S. Colt.
The tournament officially began with a delicious welcome dinner at the clubhouse, where we enjoyed the local cuisine, including the famous Frankfurter Schnitzel und Bratkartoffeln.

Katrin Reising, Head of Juniors in Frankfurt, presented the weekend’s sporting program:

Three four-ball better-ball matches starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning,

Followed by three foursomes in the afternoon.
Sunday morning featured six singles matches, decisive for the final outcome — a total of twelve matches and twelve points to be contested.

After dinner, we were taken to our host families (a particularly nice tradition of this event), as the next morning promised an early start!

Saturday morning’s four-ball matches gave the FGC an initial advantage, leading 2–1. The foursomes ended in a 1.5–1.5 tie, setting up an exciting final day.

On Saturday evening, the atmosphere turned festive! Under the guidance of German vice-captain Alexander, both teams strolled through Sachsenhausen, before gathering for another convivial dinner at the traditional cider house “Wagner”, right in the heart of Frankfurt.

Sunday morning saw the final matches, with our hosts holding a one-point lead. The six singles began, and all matches were closely fought. It was only in the final holes that Saint-Germain managed to turn things around, finally earning a 6–6 draw.
The two captains had agreed on a special playoff format to decide the winner: a nearest to the pin challenge from 100 meters on the 18th hole, featuring the last players from each team.

After Ferdinand placed his ball about five meters from the flag, Constance hit a fantastic shot landing just one meter from the hole. Johanna responded with a superb shot of her own, but it stopped two meters away — not quite enough.
Victory therefore went to Saint-Germain, for the third consecutive year, though this one was by far the most closely contested!

A return match is already scheduled for 2026 in Saint-Germain.

The Saint-Germain team included Constance Detroye, Anita Costantini, Louise de la Chaise, Rafael Mouty, and Aurélien Oudart, accompanied by Ghislain de la Chaise and Jean-Renaud Lutt. One German player kindly joined our team, as our sixth player had to withdraw just 48 hours before departure.
