French Team Championship – Mid-Amateur Men
Golf de Sablé-Solesmes
The Golf de Sablé-Solesmes hosted this year’s French Mid-Amateur Men’s Team Championship – 1st Division, a prestigious event bringing together the sixteen best French clubs.
After two rounds of stroke play qualifying on the Forêt-Rivière (white) course, the Saint-Germain team delivered an impressive performance, finishing 4th overall and securing their spot in the knockout stages.
Led by Thomas Kokkinis (captain) & Thomas Bruneau (coach), the team showed great consistency, especially during the second round, posting a strong 364 total, two under par for the day.
Individual scores reflected the team’s depth and quality:
-
Thomas Lioret – 71, 75
-
Charles Gonet-Sédillot – 73, 79
-
Cédric Deléplanque – 73, 75
-
Christophe Ravetto – 74, 75
-
Ghislain de la Chaise – 81, 73
-
Thomas Kokkinis – 80, 69 (not included in the first round but decisive in the second)
At the end of qualifying, Saint-Germain finished with a total of 738 strokes (+18), behind Bordeaux Lac (+14), Amiens (+15), and Bordelais (+16), but ahead of Cabot Bordeaux (+19).
These results demonstrate the team’s solidity and cohesion on a demanding and technically challenging course.
A Strong Run Ending in the Semi-Finals
After qualifying for the match play phase, our players faced the best French teams in direct head-to-head matches.
Following a hard-fought quarterfinal win against Cabot Bordeaux, Saint-Germain eventually bowed out in the semi-final against Aix-Marseille, after a tightly contested battle that could have gone either way.
Although just short of the final, this 2025 campaign remains a great sporting success, confirming the club’s position among the elite of French Mid-Amateur golf.
A United and Determined Team
Team spirit, solidarity, and determination were the hallmarks of the group throughout the week.
Congratulations to all players for their commitment and excellent performances:
Thomas Lioret, Charles Gonet-Sédillot, Cédric Deléplanque, Christophe Ravetto, Ghislain de la Chaise, and Thomas Kokkinis.
A big thank you as well to the organizers and the Golf de Sablé-Solesmes team for their warm welcome and impeccable event management.
